MIXED DRIED POPPY FLOWER FOR DUMMIES

Can you really try to eat a poppy pod like an apple? I expected them being like pods, with seeds in them. Not stable or vegetable like.I brewed tea out of them as common but permitted the water to evaporate absent for hours and several hours with no ever boiling.
